Each CARMA book jewel is made to order in our Amsterdam atelier, hand-engraved with names, initials or the wedding date, officially hallmarked, and gift-wrapped in its handmade flannel pouch.

bridesmaids, groomsmen, the officiant, the parents: a series of engraved bookmarks, each with its own name, made together so they arrive together. Write to us with names and your date; we plan the engraving backwards from it.

the 25th is the silver anniversary. A sterling silver bookmark engraved with the original wedding date is the literal gift for it.

Every letter is cut by hand at the bench, not by machine - no two engravings are alike, which suits weddings. Before we engrave, you receive an email to confirm the design.
Timing for weddings
Made to order takes about three weeks. For wedding parties (multiple pieces), tell us your date first — we'll confirm what's possible before you order. Ordering last-minute for a wedding this month? We'll email you a designed card within a day —"Your engraved book jewel is being made by hand in Amsterdam"— so there is something to give at the wedding itself.
Ready for the wedding day
Each book jewel arrives in its handmade flannel pouch, in a box with real sheep wool (CARMA has roots in a sheep farm) with a card about the making. Ordering for a wedding party? Every piece comes packed individually, ready to hand out one by one.
