CARMA is a jewellery brand founded in Amsterdam by me, Caroline van Sprang.

My understanding of beauty, including jewelry, is shaped by life and lineage. My first brooch was a family heirloom, a gold pin with pearls. It was my great-grandmother who ran a jewelry shop in Belgium; well-made objects to be used.

A later brooch, which I got gifted by an ex-lover, was something else: bronze and silver, bold. Strangers commented on it. The unusual, small item created an connection.

CARMA grew from that observation. The brand is focust on less common objects. Always made in silver and used for daily life.

I spent part of my childhood on a sheep farm in Germany, where I learned to care of my surroundings; plants, animals, wool. Tangible things. Later, living in cities, I worked across food, writing and hosting. Scenes that invite connection.

The combination of cultural curiosity and wanting to care for materials, sits at the core of everything you'll find at CARMA.

They objects itself are serious. But they're made to charm you. And to be used with humor.
