CARMA is a handmade silver jewellery brand founded in Amsterdam by Caroline van Sprang. It began with an interest in how well-made objects move along with us in daily life and with time. And how they create conversations.
My understanding of beauty, including jewellery, is shaped by life and lineage. The first pieces of jewellery that I intentionally wore were family heirlooms. They came from my great-grandmother's jewellery shop in Belgium.
In my early twenties I was gifted a bold, bronze and silver brooch. Strangers commented on it; the unexpected object created a connection.
CARMA grew from that observation.
I spent part of my childhood on a sheep farm in Germany, surrounded by materials and animals that required care. Later, living in cities, I worked across food, writing, and hosting: settings shaped by atmosphere and people interacting.
At CARMA, all silver pieces are designed for daily use. Launching with hair pins, book jewels and brooches.
While the objects are made with serious attention to craft and detail, they are meant to charm.
